Western Women Are Not 'Available'

In some sections of the Indians the misconception that Western women are ‘available’ rules the roost, thanks to the dominance of blue films. A mindset which has led to troubled times for them during their visits in this land. It’s time for the Indians to get rid of such ridiculous perceptions. Indeed, it’s very difficult to borrow ideals from civilizations different than ours but then there is no other way to get above the flaws of one’s civilizations.

In fact, right from Sri Aurobindo to Tagore, all have laid great emphasis to borrow better aspects of Western world, infuse it with our living patterns to have an evolved society. Still, let reforms synchronize with the inherent tendencies of one’s cultural patterns, being result of self-awakening, instead of result of imposition of alien agents. Anyway, instead of gathering trash from foreign lands, it’s better if we come to borrow healthy Western patterns.

I think cultures blend in every nation, every continent..Too ofton we try to lable ”good or bad” across the board and it just doesn’t work out.

There are so many things we can learn from one another, but we have to do away with the ideas of ”all or nothing”.

What if bad attributes in certain society becomes dominant over good attributes? No body is interested in crass generalization but none can ignore the dominance of evil factors. How can we ignore the emergence of wrong trend patterns? How can we ignore the elements involved in shaping wrong patterns?

Arvind:

From the beginning of time the world has spun delicately on it’s axis; lightly trending the fine line between one’s perception of ”good and evil”.

Much has to do with perception, personal beliefs, culture, inherited traditions.

NOTHING is etched in stone, just because one says something is bad, doesn’t mean all do, and vice versa. That is why it is so important to instill individual thinking...

Everyone has a right to an opinion, just as everyone has a right to certain expressions; they obviously will not walk hand in hand for the world.

The world HAS changed a great deal, but that doesn’t mean that everything has to change, that you have lost, it just means you need to stick to your guns, especially when it comes tto raising children.

The world is only as dark as we, ourselves see it, my friend.

I agree change in perception is bound to unleash positive vibrations. However,it would be unwise to suggest that everything can be tolerated just by changing our perceptions.Life is not that simple. In my eyes it’s constructive approach coupled with fierce reasoning that brings real changes.First we should have a proper intellect to understand what’s the crisis really is.Then we should think of steps to diffuse the crisis or for that matter think of steps which could allow you to carve a better route.Lastly,we should have will power and resources to make our dreams turn into reality.

Had change in perception been the way to bring happiness, the institutions like police and court would have become redundant. How come modern society has become so insecure in our times, to an extent that we even don’t trust our relatives ? Do you think all the dreaded terrorists can be eliminated by mere change in our perceptions? Do you think a mentally corrupt woman can be pushed back on right track by mere change of perception of the husband ?

I do agree that change in perception works wonder but given the complexity that dominates our society we need to think of other dimensions as well besides change in perception.

No woman is ’available’; be it western, eastern, northern or southern. It is only when one sees another with jaundiced eyes that everything appears yellow. Male chauvinism is rampant in many parts of our country, more so in rural India (not to mention that urban India is lagging much behind). Any lady who wears modern clothes and talks openly and freely is given this tag - ’available’. In this aspect, we need to change our mentality. Every mother should inculcate in her son respect for women in general.

I wholeheartedly endorse your views. But you seem to have deviated away from the issue dealt with in my post.

The post makes an appeal to the Indians to see Western women in better perspective.

However, having said that, I cannot ignore the fact that women, be they rural or urban, have become mentally corrupt under influence of so many unholy influences which have to nothing with male chauvinism !!

i want to clea a small misconception around the indian coomunity . the west(including western europ, norhtern america and australia where the whites are at majority follow the policy of

”swinging, serial monogamy and similar other living relations”

we are not brought like that . we live in monogamy .

this is a small game vplayed by another white coomunity , just ignnore and get to work .

have you never heard these wite people selling virginity in the internet . they will make themselves available in public through voyeurisms, public sex, in the road gangband . they can nnot be trusted almost all can be included . don’t trust the bad ones, there are good humans in whites too
(unfortunately they are hard to find)

i used the term white not as a race issue but to describe the difference between a inian and other europeans .

i have respect to them and mean no harm to the good humans whether they are coloured or not .

I thank you for participating in the debate.I know there are many corrupt practices prevalent in the world which influence our thought pattern in a negative way.We certainly cannot ignore the fact that they have left a wrong impact on our consciousness via openness that has turned women into no better than ”sex object”.

However, having said that, I must say we need to set better precedents in this regard.

Lastly, I must say your name is quite interesting !! What do you steal ?
