Mr. Khan’s acting prowess is certainly not close to Mr Bachchan’s. But they had their own times of fame and glory. People, so easily forget the past and praise or banish celebrities based on their current stature.

But again,frankly speaking, you are correct that it would be unfair in comparing both for their work in Bollywood.

I never considered SRK in any case for anything. I hardly watch his films. Having said that, Mr Bachchan has also done a some very mediocre to pathetic movies. Considering the clout and reputation he has, he could have tried out something fresh and different that could have benefited Indian cinema in general. But he choose to stick to the tried and tested formula. In that sense Amir Khan has done a far better job.

In my case I certainly remember the legacy of SRK . Yes , he has under the direction of so some big ’n’ famous names has given good performance like Baazigar , Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na , Darr etc. However , the biggest flaw in his acting skills is to follow a beaten track ignoring the variation and depth which a particular character demands . Once he came to attain certain position in Bollywood he became more like Sourav Ganguly -trying to do other things rather concentrating on his profession . He became victime of stardom -manipupating everything to remain in limelight .He is one of the most egocentric person to dominate the Bollywood .And like present generation youths he has no rsspect for seniors , for stalwarts like Big B. SRK should not forget that he would have to take many births to match the persona of Big B .It’s very strange that Bollywood has beome resting place of bad and arrogant actors like SRK ..

Dear Jitaditya ,

Indeed , even Amitabh has done some stupid roles which he , along with us , would like to remember least . However ,having said that ,let’s not forget that it all happened because of bad script , wayward direction and absence of innovation .He was not let down by his acting skills but by the producers and dircetors dominated by commercial interests . SRK , on the other hand , has been marred by poor repition of some of his chosen expressions . No matter who is behind the camera , SRK is today unable to get rid of horse like hisses and boring gestures . And look at the audience they go gaga over these unbearable acts !! .
If we start appreciating real performances , the scope for likes of SRK would soon fade into oblivion .They are not actors but businessmen in guise of actor . That’s the truth .
