Yes, “translation” is not a problem within Muslim community .So why are they not able to be in league with right message of Prophet, especially the terrorists? Agreeing with you on correct understanding of the scripture, but at the same time let me ask you, if a bully supported by another bully bulldozes your home, do you not expect even your toddler to bear arms against that bully. Who wants to put arms in the hands of small children? versus who pushes the young children to take arms, ask this question and you will be amazingly surprised. Lissen to nana patekar who asks the difference between the color of hindu blood and muslim blood, all are the same. Its the hidden agenda and interest that takes precedence and thus aggression. Remember you percieve like israelis that muslims are yur common enemy,therefore their advocacy, thats wrong perception. .....Going by your logic India has full right to wage a war against all those who are encouraging terrorism !!More so when majority of Indians now feel that ”enough is enough”.If injustice can compel Muslim children to hold guns, why should we allow the situation to deteriorate to such an extent wherein Indian children are forced to be in company of girls.

We have never treated Muslims as our enemy.It’s they who have isolated themselves by being in tune with all sorts of absurd perceptions.It’s atrociousness of the Muslims that has produced only enemies for them in whole world !!Their attitude and mannerism have made them dubious in the eyes of people belonging to other religion.

Even Jinnah was fully aware that Pakistan was his biggest mistake.Though he asked for a separate country for the Muslims first but when he got Pakistan,he realised his mistake and he tried his best to keep it secular.
Its a totally confused Nation,with a very confused religion as their national religion,which wants peace with handling over guns to their toddlers.

This is really a very complicated issue. People are born the same. A child born is the same in any part of the world.

What shapes them later is their ideology.

I don’t hate Muslims at all. Some of my closest friends, some of my favorite bollywood icons are Muslims (though we see them as Indians) But, I somewhere think something is fishy about Islam. This religion has highest number of apostates, highest number of anti-websites, and violence is very high in Muslim societies.

Christianity teaches, ’love your enemies’, Hinduism teaches ’forgive your enemies’ but only Islam teaches ’fight your enemies’ ( Quran’s verse no. 2:190 )

Muslims most away from Islam are the best people (Salman Rushdie, Tasleema) Muslims closest to Islam are turning out bad (terrorists).

Countries most away from Islam are doing good (Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia)
Countries closest to Islam are doing the worst and are encouraging violence. (Saudi, Sudan, Taliban)

This is my frank observation.

Thanks to you for daring to come up with a ”frank observation”. Well, you have the hit the nail on the head,.Nothing left for me to say. However, I wish to say that Muslim clerics are no better than frogs in well. Even the Muslim community is itself not interested in borrowing better things from other people. They are solely interested in glorifying Islam by elimination of Kafirs with the help of terrorists and likes of Dr.Zakir Naiks!!!

Nothing other than narrow mindedness of Muslim community is to be blamed for most of the problems plaguing them. In India , they are raising hue and cry about lack of development .But they don’t realize that unholy nexus with medieval mindset is the real cause for not being able to develop like other communities.

One gentleman from Pakistan has posted an article on Instablogs about rights of women in Islam. Ironically,call it bad luck of that gentleman, Veena from India has posted an article at the same time titled ” 10 year girls’ marriage justified ” wherein she informs us that” As per the Bureau report, The Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz al-Shiekh, the most powerful and senior cleric of Saudi Arabia said, the marriage of 10 year old girls is justified...”.

Now it’s for U Ameya to realize what sort of contradiction exists in Muslim community.

And yes, some of my friends are Muslim too. We have no problem in sharing the road with them. But the problem is that extremists are sooner or later going to overpower whatever few good individuals are left in their community. Grace, Michael and I are harsh critics of what’s happening in their community. But I feel we still believe in sharing the road with them. BUT DO THEY ALSO FEEL LIKE US ?

Unfortunately, I don’t hate Muslims either... what I DO have a problem with is the whole ”Islam is the only true faith” and Islam will dominate ideology that is prevalent even on so-called moderate websites, and even here on I.B.

And for as many Muslims that leave their faith (if they survive- because Islam calls for the death of apostates, and have been killed) many more are converting or reverting. It is the fastest growing religion in the U.S. and the world.

I have known some Muslims as well (I did a show with Muslim actor) but he was secular, so it doens’t really count.

”Islam is the only true faith”....Yes,the word ”ONLY” is the cause of upheaval.Surprisingly,many who come to hear the Muslim preachers never bother to critically examine the words of preachers.The words of Mullahs and Maulvis is ultimate, no matter if they are referring to moon as sun!!!They are more in tune with herd mentality.No application of brain.If anyone dares to bring brain in use,a fatwa sooner or later is bound to chase that fellow all the time.

I have once asked Michael C ”Who is going to bell the cat ?”.I mean who is going to tame the Islamic extremists ? I don’t know what’s your answer but we both believe that since Muslim community cannot trust an outsider,the job to eliminate the extremists have to be done by the sane voices within the Muslim community.It’s not a realistic solution but sadly all other ways run the risk of being perceived as ” clash of civilizations ” .

By the way, my answer is the same. It has to be done by the sane voices in the Muslim community. Since the advent of internet and free flow of information, many Muslims have started realizing the reality.

A large number of Muslims are leaving Islam like never before. Ex-muslims are speaking and raising their voice. Go on www.faithfreedom.org and www.faithfreedom.org/index.htm you will love it as they are websites of ex-muslims asking questions and debating on islam. The founder is Ali Sina and most Muslims will be convinced by what they say once you tell them it is all written by Muslims.

just a google for ’Ex-muslims’ and your hope will be rejuvenated. you and I believe the same in fact, that Muslims are not bad, it is an ideology that makes them bad. It is Islam that is making Muslims shout Allah-U-Akbar and kill kafirs.

It’s easier said than done.I am more worried about India.The way appeasement has become the favourite weapon of all major political parties, I am afraid we are moving towards an another partition.
First of all we need a sound policy to remove anti-national elements.Then we have to take all steps restore the glory of ancient legacy.It’s very necessary to first keep our house in order.

Most holy books have been open to misinterpretation, which is no excuse, in my opinion. The early Mormons took the whole ”be fruitful and multiply” to mean they should take on mulitple wives and to have many babies. which was not the point. It is now illegal to have more than one wife in the U.S.

Religions need to modernize because the world is very different from the days when the Holy Books were written.

Misinterpretations are bound to occur.But then rationality demands that we develop the ability to make amendments after a certain time period.
