Poverty’ may evoke a vision of the collective effort of the groups of people to live simply’.However , I would like to point out that life becomes hellish for those who come to traverse the path of higher ideals.They are not only labeled pretenders but also tortured for carving a better path.Anon sounds true when he says that living saints are tortured while the dead ones are praised.The contradictions prevailing in the world are mind boggling.On the one hand, game shows like KBC are churning out crorepatis and , on the other, embarrassing episodes involving people dying from hunger unfurl before our eyes.Gandhi wasn’t wrong when he stated that there is enough for man’s needs but nothing can satiate his greed.But M-factor has taken strange twists.More and more girls are using their body as commodity just to ensure extra bucks. Excuse:The money gives them the power to have things what they cannot normally afford.What’s really surprising that they are not willing to take note of the consequences, much less be ashamed of their acts.
No doubt it’s the result of wrong conditionings of the mind.Parents in some way are responsible for not telling them about the life based on values besides those theories which promote superficialities i.e. beliefs which measure people’s worth in terms of financial considerations.Owing to huge gap in theory and practice, largely created in the name of practicality, very few dare to imbibe lofty ideals.It’s bitter but true that we were happy when scholars were held in high -regard over the business class.Today , when money mania has pushed them into sideline , making way for the crooked and corrupt, to think about better days is no more than a pious wish.How can there be light at the end of the tunnel when ancient ideals are considered road blocks -thanks to Marxists intellectuals.It’s another thing that lust for money or desire to control it has made people prisoner of demoniacal sentiments.Needless to say, it’s trendy, cool to be corrupt !!
