It’s time to depict the dark truths encircling the media world. Journalism is now not a “mission” but “profession”. Probably, that’s why I have maintained a very safe distance from the prominent media groups in my own country even as I come to make contributions for them as a freelancer!!
Both Western media and media operating in my nation has been held hostage to number of unwanted developments. I don’t know what’s going on in the minds of people when they are criticizing Western media but when I do so I have in mind the fact that Western media has high standards. When they start manipulating facts, whatever be the reason, it really hurts. The difference between them and the ones working in China gets wiped out the moment they enter in double standards. When one expects truth, they come out with twisted truths.
Okay we are corrupt. But why the Western media (read the publications which act as mouthpiece of government like Time, Newsweek, The Times etc.) which boast of its high standards fail to display these traits when one needs them most?

Today, most of the Indians have been taken aback the way CNN ,MSNBC and others chose to narrate the happenings in Mumbai? I want to know is that’s the way to deal with a tragedy? It really hurts because these “lies” ultimately start dominating the strategies of the big global players besides heightening the ignorance of common people, who rely on these versions. They start a very dangerous chain of reactions, which ultimately strengthens the divisive forces. I think today media worldwide is using the divide and rule formula in a different way.
Yes, everything is being dictated by the likes and dislikes of Corporate bigwigs. India is no exception. They have very fixed ways to fool the citizens. Half of them are lost in colourful stories planted by the big media houses, which provide ordinary readers delicious details of lives of movie stars. The other half is more interested in cheap versions of “breaking news” of all types. Indeed, news is breaking more and uniting less.
No need to tell that, there is no taker of truth in our commercialized fast-paced world of ours. It’s not truth but manufactured truth that rules the present hi-tech world!! And irony involved in whole thing is that though we are capable of delivering right versions, we love to fake transparency all in the name of expanding truth. That also explains why Hindu-bashing is favourite past time of a large section of media both in India and abroad.
However, it’s better to remain optimistic than being swayed by pessimism. I am happy that common man has now realized that something is fishy. He has awakened. And that’s a great development.

You are absolutely correct that media groups need not to behave like a spoilt child.
