Madhur Bhandarkar has made great advances in the world of movies . One reason why he is at the zenith of success is that he has interacted with harsh realities of life in his formative years as a filmmaker .He has been successful in gauging the contours of subjects considered untouchable in Bollywood .

At least, he has taught cliche-oriented movie makers how to make hard-core realistic movies brimming with ironies of life . In other words, the elements involved in making of art movies are there in his movies side by side masala elements blended so well that these movies never fail to strike chord with all type of viewers .

The movies like Satta , Page 3 ,Corporate and Fashion, to name a few, are successful in revealing macabre side of the colorful world that appears impressive to many from a distance !! The moral of his movies is very clear: The grass is not always greener on the other side.

It’s really a wonderful experience to go through a comment of sensible reader/writer like you.
I am a great admirer of his movies. Recently, he said, “I am the only filmmaker who has got box office success, critical acclaim and National awards at the same time.”
I appreciate his ability to feel the pulse of viewers without compromising with the seriousness inherent in the themes. “My movies mirror society. I like doing such films,” he says.
Although I am not very happy with the way he has dealt with his new movie “Fashion”, it still retains the Bhandarkar touch .It fails to provide logical end to the ironies active in the fashion world.
And like always, it has its famous one liners: “Fashion Mein Jitna Kum Sochogi Utna Zyada Kamaogi ”
