The various scams in the Army goes on to prove why India has been ranked so high by Transparency International.It appears that Army is fast becoming last refuge of the scoundrels.

The reason,quite simply, is that there are so many escape routes for the corrupt.In an irony of sorts,the involvement of high-ranked officials in ‘poultry scam ,’dal scam’and etc. is a colossal embarrassment for Army which believes in pursuing high ethical standards.

A crash course in accountability and fair play besides an efficient and swift disciplinary proceedings would enable the Army to retain its luster and pride.However,an institution like Army , enjoying high degree of reverence,shouldn’t have given way to such malpractices .
