Have We Indians Fallen In Love With Complexities Of Life?

The globalized world has given rise to host of complex problems. One of the most unfortunate developments has been that one’s privacy and individuality have lost meaning as the shrewd souls have scant respect for them. Now one has to pay a heavy price to pursue one’s dreams and aspirations.Jeremy Seabrook rightly stated that ‘real reason for seeking to criminalize the despairing is that to do so pathologizes the individual, and leave society unscathed’.

It would not be out of place to suggest that ’shallow legalism’ and secular outbursts have tarnished the well-structured life-patterns of Hinduism. What’s the point in giving rise to complexities in name of upholding values of modern society ?For the time being,it has become our fate to reel under absurdities of modern messiahs!Look at the new laws. They are supposed to protect the rights of women. However, instead of protecting the rights of women they are breaking homes.Anticipatory divorce petitions are being filed at the time of marriage.

Look at our media. It has no respect for our privacy and it is least interested in ensuring a stable society. The word camera never evoked feeling of fear but when it gets combined with word “hidden” it becomes a deadly object!!It then gains the potential to turn your “happy home” into a graveyard!!Media has shrewdly used hidden cameras to indulge in “sensationalism”.Apart from that Media is promoting wrong lifestyle-one that caters to individualism. What are programmes like “Sach Ka Saamana” aimed at?They are only weakening the pillars of Indian society. In other words, all better values are now mocked at as we have somewhat accepted within that it’s age of baddies and therefore there is no harm in flirting with cheap values !!

Have We Indians Fallen In Love With Complexities Of Life?

Anyway,I am I’m proud to be born in a country where ” Gandhi-a naked fakir ” was enough to show 35,000 Britishers the door without the use of weapon! Realize the strength of nation when 1.2 billion souls come to have swords in their hands? Still, let not such a day come when we have to become the worshipers of sword than being the lovers of “power of self “.Unfortunately, there are many negative forces that are forcing us to believe in aggressive tendencies, cosmetic values and unnatural living patterns. However, we have to develop the power of resistance so that we are always at a safe distance from the wrong values.Let’s not forget that we have always believed in simple living and high thinking. Our culture deep-rooted in non-violence does not promote bloodshed.Let foreign powers view our politeness as symbol of weakness and love for simple things as sign of dumbness. There is no merit in being dictated by foreign values. After all, what’s the point in becoming like others when the sun in all the case is going to set !!!

The program is bringing forward, what a person did in life, with his consent.

Admitting the truth is against the Indian values; but doing those things in real...what was that??

Thanks for making your presence felt after a very long time.

It’s not the question of ”admitting the truth”.It’s crystal clear that the whole programme is aimed at minting money.Minting money,I think, is not wrong but then how you generate money makes all the difference. The way a daily wage labourer earns money puts him above smuggler. Both in their own eyes are working hard but it’s quite clear to all of us as who really is working with right bent of mindset.

Sach Ka Saamna I must say has made travesty of human emotions.Almost each individual on this planet must have been victim of unguarded weak moments. What’s the point in making such moments big issue and that too on the Television ? What’s the gain of such tamasha? Is the programme aimed at turning all of us into Satyavaadi Harishachndra ? Or do you think that by speaking harsh truth on Television they will absolve themselves of all sorts of guilt complexes or for that matter they will develop habit of speaking truth in future and that too in all the conditions ?
Do you think that those who are appearing in such shows are incarnations of righteousness ?

Well, it’s the great game of money. Both the maker and participants are great thugs who are making mockery of human sentiments only to make quick money. All of us know that there are many uncomfortable moments in life.We have to make certain compromises. Why are we unfolding them now and what for ? It’s better that something always remains burried in chambers of mind. इन कमजोर पलों को बाज़ार में लाने कि क्या ज़रुरत है ज़नाब ?

I repeat that makers/participants are greatest crooks.

It’s time for you to realize that it’s impossible f the human beings to remain above baser instincts all the time.Having known that, let’s not turn human life into a great nautanki. It’s already too complicated.Don’t complicate it further.

They are talking truth about themselves...what is problem with others, i fail to understand. If you don't like it don't watch it.

It’s not about mine truth or their truth..It’s about dominance of crooked mindset that’s promoting various forms of evils around us.How can you ignore the wrong tendencies spread around yourself? This programme has very cleverly given decent extension to our greed in the name of developing ability to face the so-called truths. You don’t need to be directly linked with the tragedy to feel the pain. You could be the next victim if you don’t tackle wrong beliefs with iron hand.

Keeping your eyes shut is the easiest way to ignore the wrongdoings. But that’s only going to worsen the situation further.

BTW , what do you say about my idea to have that host of the ”Sach Ka Saamna” face such so-called truths in one of its episodes? Will that be not too interesting ?I am sure that will let all of us know his real motive behind presenting such programmes.

Indians should stop faking about the morality. People who preach moral values to others are commonly observed admiring women and longing to have one night stand with them. Praying to god for more than two hours a day and making illegal construction of their houses or shops. Teach values to your children and abuse and fight with the neighbors on petty things.

I have observed these things near my house itself. Now imagine how many people in India are like this. I bet its more than 70%. Don't talk about Indian values in this century.

Dear Milind,

I agree with your views but like to place them in a different box.May we today our bonds with morality appears to be ”fake”but I don’t think that it was always the case.Kesri states that we are a rare nation but let’s not forget that despite being dominated by outsiders we never lost our identity. Look at other nations. Many of them are no more on the world’s map. They all came to merge in the identity imposed by the outsiders. On the contrary,we not only retained our cultural identity but also forced the outsiders to be at par with values and beliefs shared by us.Isn’t that greatest wonder of this planet?

We certainly have the right to appreciate/protect those values that made us possible to remain unshaken amid host of negative forces for such a long period.Yes, in some eyes it’s faking. But open your eyes and see what’s the magnitude of crime in other worlds amid so-called progress made by them !It’s better to refine our mind and intellect rather than reaching on moon and mars.

If we are today faking moral values, isn’t it our duty to see that our bonds with higher Indian values become real?

Instead of condemning our cherished values, let’s make them part and parcel of our life in a real way.

Its quite true that the life today is getting complex, not only in India but every where. In India we may feel the wave of change a little stronger in order to compete with others who are considered by us as moving ahead. Its an individual perception of looking at the things. The same thing may look simple and ordinary to some one while the others may consider it as modern and complex. There are different people having different perception of the society. Some support the existence of a joint and traditional family in society with a hierarchy of members where elder’s voice has a stronger weight and women are some how considered to be under the control of men in the name of family prestige and security. The others who are comparatively exposed, living in larger cities and towns and, of course, claim to be better educated are in favour of the individual liberty, better and quality education and work opportunity to all men and women,no discrimination of any kind in the name of gender and to a large extent the ideological openness. In the course of the progressive urge Indians have ,certainly, forgotten their positive attributes and have developed many negative ones, but it has happened due to the extreme pressure of population that makes us feel insecure somewhere leading us to follow deceptive and antisocial norms to fulfill the self interests. We are the rare nation having been dominated by the outsiders (including Turks,Mughals and English)for almost thousand years.Despite our rich ancient heritage we are still lagging behind in all kind of progress and development if compared with the West( and even selected East). After independence we started breathing freely and nurturing the ambition to follow those who are better than us.The role model we found was the West, of course. As a hungry person do not check the quality of food in front of him,we also started a blind race to reach to the level of West.Since the structural differences in ours and Western societies is obvious, we achieved many positive things along with certain negative western values in the race of our progress. It is now our responsibility to screen out the negative and harmful things while keeping the positive ones with us.

@Kesri

Kesriji you have posted a very balanced response. It’s certainly our responsibility to see that negative and harmful things are eliminated from our society. It’s time to rope in positive values.

There are certainly ”different perceptions” as how we look at the developments. But I don’t think that it’s too hard to distinguish right from wrong? Is it right to cash in on our weakness? Is it right to treat human beings as some sort of gutter object devoid of all self respect ?

Is is right that we all have turned into medium to earn more money and we are important as long as we are in a position to create some material benefits to people around? After that we are like empty plastic bottles lying on some corner of the road!!
