The invasion of gadgets in the lives of Generation X has turned them into moody and possessive creatures.Worse,it has confined them to the world of virtual realities,making them slaves of plastic values .No doubt these do help them to be in sync with times but not without taking toll on their nerves.Consider the way the Internet has become cause of sleepless nights for many parents or,for that matter,instant connectivity has helped youths to further increase the crime graph.The ever increasing cyber crimes have become cause of worry for the police officials.

My name is Jane.I saw your profile today.I am interested in you.I will send U my pic.Kindly send message on my personal e-mail id.” If that’s not the case there is always someone present to turn me into a beneficiary so that I can become an owner of some unclaimed huge sum of money !!
Just visit any cyber cafe.You will find people involved in meaningless chatting with the strangers.Most of them are in their teens.Probably ,they are not aware of the fact that it’s not that easy to form relationships in our times.It takes lots of real gestures to win a heart.The drama in cyber world can never be as powerful as one’s taking place in real life.
In retrospect,we still don’t have a mindset to use these technological incarnations in a constructive way.These scientific toys may add meaning in the lives of upper echelons of society but for a large section people these are of little importance .

True,technology is not to be blamed for the evil that prevails in our world.One cannot ignore the fact that nature of conflicts have changed in our times.New form of unheard crimes are taking place.I love to remain optimistic about the developments but I feel terribly unhappy the way technology is being misused.Visited one of the leading social networking sites and saw that how anti social minds have virtually hacked the profile of others and replaced all the good material with pornographic material !!!

I appreciate your take on the whole issue.However,let’s not forget that many of the terrorists attack in recent times including the one in Mumbai were conducted with the help of latest gadgets.
Going by the destructive streak in an individual,it’s really a tough task for the cyber cops to keep an eye on wrong happenings in virtual world.
I wish to add something.I feel most of the readers who have commented have failed to take note of the fact that I have also talked about how it has made youths fall in league with superficial values.Okay,there are many who are using it for the wrong sake but let’s also have a look at mannerism of people using the technology in a right way !!
Earlier they used to meet in real life and discussed lots of interesting things.I remember getting lots of greetings or hand written messages.We used to exchange niceties in the real world on all important festivals. Now all we do is send a simple e-greeting or send sms.
I think that’s a huge loss in terms of intimacy .
